The best-known British biscuit is the shortbread. My personal journey into enjoying British bakes began with shortbread. (link to blog)
Unlike shop-bought ones, mine have 4 ingredients, and are the most crumbly and melt-in-the-mouth ones I have come across. I do mine slightly thinner than the Scottish version I was first introduced to, which reflects my mother’s approach to baking. We like biscuits on the more refined side of life!
Ingredients:
Plain flour (gluten), Butter (dairy), Caster Sugar, Salt.
